Giclée (pronounced "jee-clay") is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The name is derived from a French word meaning to spray or splash. This word has been adapted to describe the digital printmaking process that uses the spray of tiny ink droplets from a nozzle. The results of the printing process are of such high quality, that they are widely accepted by artist, galleries, museums and private collectors.
Limited edition Giclées are unique in that they are made in a limited amount and then signed and numbered by the artist. Two numbers are used to mark each print. The top number signifies the specific piece within that edition and the bottom number represents the total number of pieces in the edition.
Giclées are an economical way to collect a variety of artists and art while enjoying high quality and exclusive imagery.
